Chicago is working on it, I’ve seen stories about groups, might be small and not in the media, that are trying hard to stop the violence, making the neighborhoods safer for their residents. I peep them on FB, and Twitter. They just need more exposure.

About New Era Chicago was formed to bring unity in our Black communities & to empower Black residents to buy, build, invest in the communities that we live in.

They have shut down, disrupted, and protested businesses that practice disrespectfully in the black neighborhoods. They go in the business and tell the owners that being disrespectful to customers is not acceptable and if they continue, they will block, and protest them being there. They are not playing. I’ve bought their gear and support them. I love my city!

I admire the content on your Tumblr and how you promote black beauty and encourage women of color to be comfortable in their own skin. The music that I create is along the same line as the content that you promote.  During these current times I feel like it’s a trend of women of color being degraded (especially in hip hop) so I wanted to create a song to encourage, uplift, and show my appreciation for women of color.  Just felt the need to share it with you.
